Receiving recognition is always special. Receiving recognition for something that sits at the very heart of who we are is truly extraordinary.
We are incredibly proud to share that we have been awarded an Exceptional judgement for Inclusion within Ofsted’s Wraparound Care framework, making us one of only two providers in our industry to achieve this distinction.
This isn’t simply an accolade. It is recognition of the culture we’ve built, the values we live by every day, and our unwavering belief that every child deserves to feel safe, understood, valued and able to thrive.
One of the most powerful messages throughout the report is the sense of belonging children experience from the moment they arrive.
Inspectors observed children being welcomed warmly by adults who know them exceptionally well. Predictable routines, secure relationships and a deep understanding of every child’s individual needs allow children to settle quickly and confidently.
Communication is embedded throughout the day. Makaton is naturally woven into everyday interactions, enabling children to express their feelings, communicate their choices and build meaningful relationships with both staff and their peers.
Children are greeted by name, their preferences are understood, and every interaction reinforces a simple but powerful message: you belong here.
Our approach has always extended far beyond providing childcare.
The report highlights how our environment is intentionally designed around children’s emotional wellbeing. Staff notice even the smallest changes in a child’s regulation and respond with calm, attuned support before challenges escalate.
Children are helped to recognise and understand their emotions while learning practical strategies to regulate themselves. Through kindness, patience and consistency, they develop resilience, confidence and emotional security.
Inspectors also recognised the importance we place on meeting children’s sensory and dietary needs, ensuring snack times are enjoyable, inclusive and personalised for every child.
Perhaps the most rewarding feedback came from the impact our provision has on children who have struggled elsewhere.
The report describes children who previously found other environments overwhelming becoming calm, happy and confident within our setting. They build friendships, discover new interests, experience success and leave each session feeling regulated and proud of what they have achieved.
Whether children are exploring sensory activities, riding wheelie bikes, enjoying outdoor adventures or participating in our Wired for Movement sessions, every experience is carefully planned to promote confidence, independence and joy.
One area of particular pride is the recognition of our Brick Theory.
Developed through our work with children experiencing trauma, anxiety, demand avoidance and sensory differences, Brick Theory reflects our commitment to understanding children holistically rather than simply responding to behaviours.
Inspectors recognised how this approach now shapes practice across our setting and is being shared more widely through training, professional development and the resources we create for other providers.
Alongside this, our work developing inclusive resources, visual supports, SEND scenarios and physical wellbeing opportunities demonstrates our belief that inclusion should extend beyond our own organisation and benefit the wider sector.
Strong partnerships with families are central to our practice.
The report highlights the way we gather detailed information before children join us, maintain ongoing conversations with parents and adapt our provision in response to children’s changing needs.
Whether extending handovers, adjusting sensory environments or working alongside families to develop consistent routines at home and within our setting, our shared goal is always the same: helping every child succeed.
Inspectors noted that parents spoke unanimously about the unwavering support they and their children receive, reinforcing the importance of genuine partnership.
The Exceptional judgement for Inclusion reflects far more than policies or procedures.
It recognises a culture where children are understood before they are judged, where communication is accessible, where emotional wellbeing is prioritised, where families are valued as partners, and where every child is given the opportunity to succeed.
For us, inclusion has never been an initiative or a target.
It is the foundation upon which everything else is built.
This achievement belongs to every member of our incredible team, whose compassion, professionalism and dedication make this possible each day.
It belongs to our families, who place their trust in us and work alongside us to support their children.
And above all, it belongs to the children who inspire us every single day. Their resilience, individuality and achievements are the reason we continually strive to improve.
